Welcome to REX Animation Film Festival 2021!
REX is back for a 7th round, once again bringing the best of European animation to Sweden!
Our main festival event with screenings will take place at Zita Folkets Bio in Stockholm. REX 2021 consists of a superb selection of this year’s very best European animated shorts as well as a double bill of features!
REX 2021 also offers an online edition 29.10-07.11. A number of collaborations and events are also spread out in time and place.
REX är tillbaka för sin sjunde runda, återigen tar vi det allra bästa inom Europeisk animation till Sverige!
Huvudfestivalen med visningar äger rum på Zita Folkets Bio i Stockholm. REX 2021 innehåller ett fantastiskt urval av årets bästa Europeiska animerade kortfilmer och en double bill med features.
REX 2021 erbjuder även en Online-upplaga tillgänglig 29.10-07.11. Ett stort antal samarbeten och evenemang kommer att ske över tid på andra platser.

Multiple award-winning director Marta Pajek will be visiting REX and the screening of the thematic short film block Walls on Friday, November 5. A talk about Pajek’s latest film and the praised Impossible Figures trilogy will be held directly after the screening. Free popcorn for all who get hungry around 19:00. After that, stick around for REX Animation Student Award!

REX at Zita Folkets Bio 30.10.-07.11.
In our thematic short film blocks for adults (15+) you will find everything from full-on action, formal experiments and mind-expanding trips, to engaging documentaries. This year we also present an afternoon with two features about Afghanistan, each painfully relevant for our time, dealing with the experience of oppression and displacement.
As usual, we have two blocks of shorts for our youngest animation connoisseurs: REX for Kids, 6-7.11. In connection to these screenings, the whole family is also welcome to join our open animation workshops at Zita!
I våra tematiska kortfilmsblock för vuxna (15+) hittar du allt från full-on action, filmiska experiment och sinnesutvidgande vansinnesfärder till engagerande dokumentärer. I år presenterar vi även en eftermiddag med två långfilmer, båda plågsamt aktuella idag, som behandlar erfarenheter av förtryck och flykt.
Som vanligt erbjuder vi två kortfilmsblock för de allra yngsta animations-finsmakarna, REX for Kids, 6-7.11. I samband med dessa visningar är hela familjen välkommen att delta i våra öppna animations-workshops på Zita!

Zita at Birger Jarlsgatan 37 is the venue for the main festival event, with screenings 29.10.21-06.11.22.
Information on the programme and ticket sales on Zita.se available from programme release. Membership card (mandatory for all screenings except REX Animation Student Award 2021) and festival pass are bought at Zita Box office.
